Swim and Chill at Benagil Cave Tour
***WATH THIS SPACE***
Since August 2024, new rules have been enforced for visitation to the Benagil Cave. There has been a ban put in place on swimming into the cave and kayaks are no longer permitted to disembark on the sand inside the cave. As we have been having a great time helping people get into the cave for 8 years this news really sucks. We bought some inflatable kayaks when the rules first changed and managed a few trips inside the cave in early 2024 and hope to do the same this year. But unfortunately for the time being this tour is not bookable. If you´re still interested in seeing the Benagil beach and Cave from above and perhaps want to walk some of the gorgeous ´7 Hanging Valleys´ trail please send us an email (link to contact form if possible), as with many years experience I´m sure we can still offer you the best day out at Benagil.

*****THIS IS NOT A BOAT TRIP*****
This road-trip from Lagos is going to take you to one of the south of Portugal’s most majestic and talked about beaches, a beach so magical it lives in a cave.
The Algarve coastline is world famous for its incredible rock formations and caves. The Benagil Sea Cave is by far the most popular and the most beautiful. A cave so famous Windows uses it for a screensaver.
We’ll pick you, and a bunch of other travellers up from Lagos, the music will be pumping out of our vans and you’ll be handed an ice cold beer or glass of Sangria. We head straight to Benagil Beach and once arriving grab an inflatable, boogie board and life jacket if required for the 80m swim* around the cliffs and into the Benagil Cave. The swim means you’ll get to hang out in the Benagil Cave beach. After the swim, we will set up a gourmet backpacker (delete backpacker) beach picnic with plenty of meat and veggie options. Our ‘Swim and Chill @ Benagil’ tour is the only tour that takes travellers inside the cave for memories and photos to last a lifetime.
After an afternoon at Benagil beach and cave, we’ll head up to the top of the cliffs for a birds eye view of the cave and the surrounding beaches. This cliffside walk is the most spectacular part of the ´7 Hanging Valleys´ trail, so you´ll tick two boxes in one trip.
*The swim is dependent on weather conditions and swell, if the waves are too big we can’t swim into the cave but we still have a great time on Praia do Benagil. We’ll still get to see the Benagil Cave from above and take a longer walk along the ´7 Hanging Valleys´trail, taking in Praia da Marinha, voted in the top ten beaches in Europe by the Michelin Guide. Skipping the swim will also mean more time to enjoy the beer and sangria on the beach.

The best beach tour in the world… You couldnt ask for a better tour guide than Brodie, the coolest most chilled Aussie you’ll meet.
Brodes and the crew were legends!! Took us to a few hidden beaches and gave us a little taste of history and finished of with an epic sunset!
Had an epic day with some good people, everything about the tour was spot on couldn’t fault it!
